FAMILY ENGAGEMENT COLLABORATIVE
The Family Engagement Collaborative began forming in 2013 as part of the Ready Families, Ready Children Project funded by the Better Way Foundation. A joint effort between the University of Dayton's Center for Catholic Education, Center for Early Learning Initiatives, the Catholic Schools Office of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, and ReadySetSoar resulted in a funded three-year project designed to increase family engagement in the kindergarten readiness process of children in the region. The Collaborative Council meets monthly to identify and share strategies, approaches and resources and also to address needs related to family engagement in our community and beyond.
EXECUTIVE FUNCTION THINK TANK
The Executive Function Think Tank grew out of a desire to understand more about executive functioning by a group of southwest Ohio early childhood professionals. A subcommittee of the Family Engagement Collaborative of the Miami Valley Region, the group is comprised of professionals from early learning programs, p-12 schools, social agencies and higher education. The group comes together each month to explore new information and seek out opportunities to support the development of executive functioning skills in children and their families. As a result, a variety of resources have been collected, curated and developed that support the development of executive function.
