YELLOW DAY

YELLOW DAY ACTIVITIES:
At circle time, we sang about yellow leaves falling down from the trees.

Children searched around the room to find yellow things to put on a big yellow paper circle. Each child had a turn and ended up covering the yellow paper with many yellow things!

PURPLE DAY

PURPLE DAY ACTIVITES:
Not only did the children wear purple all day, we did many activities like painting at the easel.

We also worked on creating a "One-eyed, One Horned, Flying Purple People Eater", as we listened to the song over and over again.  This project lasted over a few days and helped children with processing and expression of creativity.

At circle time on PURPLE DAY, we collected things throughout the classroom that were purple and put them all onto a big purple circle.

We also had story time outside.  We listened to Harold and the Purple Crayon.  Then we did an activity with our own purple crayons.

Outside we worked on pre-writing skills with purple sidewalk chalk.

MIXING COLORS

Miss Bridget read the class a story called Mouse Paint by Ellen Stoll Walsh.  The white mice dip themselves in different color paints and make new colors.  After the story, we took turns using two different colors to make a new color.  The children were able to watch the paint mix and create secondary colors through this experience.
