Mini- Investigations

The ACCESS Curriculum also allows for shorter studies that may not be science or inquiry-based, but are still relevant to children and families. Common focuses of study for mini-investigations include seasonal topics and culturally relevant holidays or events.
Mini-Investigations typically last 1-2 weeks. This shorter duration allows teachers to incorporate topics of interest that may not warrant an extended investigation. If the mini-investigation topic happens to be science or inquiry based and children show deeper interest, that mini-investigations can be extended into a longer investigation.
