ACCESS to Physical and Earth Science: Investigation starts for Preschool., Kindergarten and the Primary Grades was developed and field tested by early childhood teachers for early childhood teachers. The investigation starters in this book feature both physical and earth science with topics that are appropriate for children ages 3 through 8. Each investigation includes step-by-step directions for the adults, a list of questions designed to encourage curiosity and inquiry as well as a description of what the children will learn during the experience. Materials lists, a bibliography of books for children and teachers, and an assessment device is included. The science content for each experience has been approved by experts in the fields of geology, biology, physics and engineering.
